Here's a documentary made on Charlie's life and his preparation for the Tokyo 2020-21 Olympic Games. Modern Pentathlon competition will occur from August 5 and 7, 2021.

God has been faithful and allowed Charles to represent Guatemala for the second time in the Olympic Games. After a challenging year after not knowing whether the Tokyo Olympics will take place and learning to trust God in this process, Charlie keeps working hard and preparing for these games in faith that if they take place, he will be ready to do the best to represent Jesus then Guatemala.


The 12 years in the sport's history of our son, Charles Fernandez, and his most significant achievements. In the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, there will be 36 men and 36 women representing as the best Athletes in the world, honor of their country in this challenging and exciting sport of 5 disciplines: Fencing, Swimming, Equestrian, Running, and Shooting. Charles began training Modern Pentathlon at the age of 14 in 2009. He was the Youth and Junior Champion in the National Championships of Guatemala and the United States and quickly obtained good results at the international and world level. His most significant Medals in all his sport's history are the first places acquired in the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada 2015, and Lima Peru 2019. He is the only athlete in the history of these Games that began in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1958 (68 years of sport's history where all the countries of America participate in all sports) in achieving two consecutive Gold Medals in the Modern Pentathlon Pan American games, which is considered a record. Winning those medals also qualified him to compete in the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020-21 Olympics, where he will compete within three weeks. Another extraordinary result was the Junior World Championships in Cairo, Egypt.
