By God's Grace
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. Colossians 3:23
Earlier this year, our plan to return to Guatemala took a detour. Carlos underwent two spine surgeries. After being in the USA for eight months and ten different flights throughout our visit, we were ready to return to Guatemala. But two days before our departure, Carlos's COVID-19 test came back positive, then mine. This delayed our travel plans for another month. Despite these difficulties, illness uncertainties, God's Sovereignty is evident in unimaginable ways.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 NIV
The Tabacal Elementary School is considering a public school. All public schools do not allow in-person learning, even though teachers must teach virtually from the school. This requirement and structure are proven difficult for the Tabacal elementary students because of the lack of access to iPads or laptops. Keeping up with schoolwork becomes a huge hurdle to undertake. Many parents don't know how to read or write to make matters worse, making it impossible for them to receive help at home.
On January 23, the Tabacal High School program started with 28 students representing four different communities. Our teachers' commitments (American Latina) to the community have positively influenced the Private Educational Programs. Following the Guatemalan government's COVID-19 protocols allowed in-person learning. Do you see the evidence of God's grace?
Jonathan started working as one of our High School teacher's assistants.
Heidy has found a full-time job in a nearby town working as a store clerk.
Sabina has started college, pursuing a career in computer engineering, making her the second college student to earn a scholarship through WTMFH.
A group of moms, who run Kids Venture Club, donated School supplies for 88 students for the 6th year in a row, including all the elementary and high school students. God's faithful provision.
Please pray that God remains the students' and the families' hope as they focus on Jesus.
